Amy Keane Physiotherapist

Amy graduated from the University of Hertfordshire in 2007 and came back to her home town, where she secured a job working within the local trust. She completed all physiotherapy core rotations with the NHS before specialising in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and now works as an advanced practice physiotherapist. With over 17 years’ MSK physiotherapy experience within the NHS and private sector, Amy uses a wide range of advance assessment and treatment skills with her patients to formulate a comprehensive treatment plan, aiming to empower individuals by leading them to understand their own conditions and the best way of management.   She has an excellent knowledge base of Spinal and Peripheral conditions and pre and post pregnancy (not including urogynae).

She completed her Mat work series of modified Pilates in 2010 and has been teaching Pilates locally in the Westgate area for the last 12 years.  She has a good understanding of how modified Pilates can be adapted to all levels and focuses on improving posture and alignment, retraining muscles particularly around the core and improving flexibility. All her classes have a focus on relaxation and improving awareness of how your own body moves.

Amy fell in love with Yoga whilst attending Wilderness festival in summer of 2016 – prior to this she thought yoga was only for super bendy people. She enjoyed the way it made her feel and helped her feel in more control of the hustle and bustle of day to day life. Amy then went on to complete her yoga teaching (200hours) training in 2017 on a residential stay in Morocco. Amy has a love for her own practice of yoga and does so regularly. She has an excellent understanding of how mindful movement can have positive effects on both physical and mental wellbeing. She combine’s this approach with her advance physiotherapy knowledge to enhance your experience in her classes. Her classes combine strength and balance in a Vinyasa flow style. She is very keen to share her passion of yoga with everyone, no matter your current ability. You don’t need to be able to touch your toes!!
