Michael has been specialising in hand therapy with over 17 years’ experience, since graduating in 2006 from Canterbury Christ Church University. After graduating he initially worked in a range of rotations in the NHS prior to discovering his love for hand therapy. He is active member of the British Association of Hand Therapy.

He gained his specialist knowledge in assessment / treatment of hand conditions and the rehabilitation of the upper limb from the last 17 years within NHS. Addition to this he has spent the last 8 years working within private sector. Michael has close working relationships with the 4 main hand consultants working for NHS and private sector within the East Kent region.

Michael has gained a broad range of clinical skills and experiences which includes trauma and orthopaedics, tendon repairs, elective hand surgery; paediatrics and rheumatology. Michael has completed a number of post grad courses to increase his knowledge in assessment and treatment of the upper limb this is includes Msc modules. Michael has advance skill in tapping and fabrication of thermoplastic and neoprene splinting. Michael is also certificated partner of WeDesign, Silversplints (www.silversplints.com)

Michael has experience of problem-solving complex situations to improve patient care and outcomes. He is also committed to ongoing professional development and enjoys staying up to date with the latest evidence and research in hand therapy and surgery. 

Michael has a specialist interest in rehabilitation of complex finger, thumb and wrist injuries, however is passionate about optimising functional outcomes for all clients with hand related conditions.
